More About Barbara-Ann

Barbara Ann started her career at Folkestone College attending a 3 year chefs course which she completed with credits and distinctions and was put forward for an award for best patisserie chef which she won.

On leaving college, Barbara-Ann started working at the Abbots Barton Hotel in Canterbury which was then part of the Cinque Ports Hotel group, sister to the Mermaid in Rye.

She joined a brigade of six chefs starting as a chef du partie and rising to Head Chef within 6 months.

Barbara stayed at the Abbots Barton for 2 years before accepting a position as chef/housekeeper within the Mountbatten household – The Rt Hon Countess Mountbatten, the Rt Hon Lord Brabourne and their children. Here she also catered for many famous clients and dignitaries.

From there she moved to Evegate to start her business where she put the emphasis on patrons being “treated like royaltyā€¯.
